I’m a busy professional with two kids, a dog, and a husband on a wild schedule—so I know how chaotic life can be. But I still want my home to feel like a retreat.

And I think you do too.

There’s this idea that a beautiful, functional home is only possible in certain seasons of life—once your kids stop making messes (so, basically when they move out), once your pets have crossed the rainbow bridge, or once you have more time, more money, more capacity.

But I don’t buy that.

I believe everyone deserves to have a home they love—in every season. Because good design doesn’t just make a space prettier—it makes life easier, calmer, better. And having a space that reflects who you are and how you live? That’s not a luxury. It’s self-care.

Maybe you have no idea where to start.
Maybe you’re totally overwhelmed.
Or maybe you just don’t have the time, energy, or desire to make every single decision a home project requires.

That’s where I come in.

Whether you just need a professional to help you get started—or you’d rather I handle every last detail—I offer services designed to meet you where you are and bring your dream home to life.

If you want to be part of the process—but with a professional to guide you, make recommendations, and help you make the right decisions—you’re in the right place.

My approach blends communication, education, and thoughtful design choices to create beautiful, functional spaces that truly work for you.

Things I Believe About Design

  1. If you love it, do it. Full stop. Trends don’t matter if it makes you happy.

  2. Sustainability matters. Thoughtful, ethical design is a responsibility - not a trend.

  3. High + low is the sweet spot. A well-designed home isn’t defined by the price tag.

  4. Form and function go hand-in-hand. Beautiful spaces should make your life easier, too.

  5. Everyone deserves a home they love. No matter your season of life or budget.

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Brittany Tharp - Owner and Principal Designer at Brittany Tharp Interiors.

After eight years teaching elementary and middle school, I stepped away to stay home with my young kids—and realized I had no desire to return to the classroom (at least not in the traditional sense). What I did discover was a deep passion for helping others create beautiful, functional spaces in their homes.

With the support of my husband, I went back to school and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design with a concentration in Sustainable Design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.

Since then, I’ve worked with clients across the U.S.—from Virginia and Texas to Connecticut and Georgia - and even internationally in Canada. I believe everyone deserves access to a beautiful home, and that great design should always reflect the people who live there. My style leans bright, comfortable, and livable - with inspiration drawn from nature and a strong focus on sustainability.

I currently live in Moseley, Virginia with my husband, our two daughters, and our spirited Shiba Inu. When I’m not designing, you can find me in the kitchen, out in the garden, planning our next trip, or soaking up time with my family.

“I didn’t even want to spend time at my new house until Brittany came and turned it into a home. I literally couldn’t have done it without her. Lifesaver.”
